The ghaychek
A third instrument presently subject to the attentions of the culture is the ghaychek,a bowed strong instrument of most unusual shape. The ghaychek, is still played as a folk instrument in the middle east.a ghaychek has a rounded back and a flat face. The face is elliptical in overall shape ,with a half-circle cut out of either side. Its neck is short and joined. The lower half of the face is covered with skin, with the bridge supporting the strings attched to the membrance. The instrument usually has a great number of strings,but of these only two are used for playing,the rest of strings,but of these only two are used for playing, the rest for resonance. The sound of the ghaychek is rasping and exotic.
